Roberts has made great strides to improve the Reading and Writing program over the past eight years. We have implemented a comprehensive litercy program along with the District initiative, UL-Voyager.
The children in grade K-3 participate in Reading and Writing for 21/2 hours of their school day. There are Libraries in each classroom, Student Stations were cooperative learning takes place and Teacher-directed small group instruction. Each day is planned for your child according to his/her individual strengths and weaknesses.
As the Literacy Coordinator here at Roberts, my role is to support the students, parents and teachers to maintain a strong program and work to improve as needed. It is also my hope to provide parents with a better understanding of how children learn to read and how they can help at home.
Posted on this site are special events held throughout the year which support literacy. Also you will find links to websites that will help your student be successful in reading and writing.
