1. August 16th, Introduction and class procedures 2. Review of Camera use and handling/ Darkroom a. Handling and formatting the photograph/Darkroom usage i. August 17th 24th, Nontraditional portrait, 2concept prints ii. August 25th August 31st , Photo Portraiture using artificial lighting, 2concept prints iii. September 5th 16th , Photo story board, 4 panels (prints) iv. September 19th- October 7th , Nature photographs taken at the Crone Conservatory, 4 prints 3. Darkroom techniques a. Learning to use filters and creating a series i. October 10th- 21st,- Family portrait, 4 prints showing family relationships ii. October 24th- November 16th , Photographs depicting a specific event iii. November 17th- December 16th , Photographic Montage Course study will include: 1. Projects 2. Art History 3. Theory and concepts Grading will include: 1. Daily classroom work 60% a. Craftsmanship i. All projects are to have the students name printed legibly in the lower right hand corner of the work along with the art class bell (failure to label properly will constitute a grade of 0). b. Use of concepts c. classroom clean-up d. classroom participation 2. Research papers ---------10% a. Papers must be formatted in the MLA style i. Two pages double spaced or longer (Number 10 or 12 font, with 1 inch borders). ii. One reference page (sight all references) iii. All papers are to be in a folder when turned in, no loose papers will be accepted 3. Quizzes -------------------10% 4. Exam-----------------------20% Resources- PowerPoint presentations, handouts and field trips There is a $20.00 Student activities fee that is due the second week of class. To keep students clothing clean and unstained parents may want to keep a large T-shirt on hand in the art room in a plastic bag. (Students will be responsible for maintaining and cleaning of clothing articles). There will also be aprons on hand.
