Health Family Tree
Do you know your health family tree? What is a health family tree?
This is a family tree that not only tells you about the people in your family, it also tells you about any medical conditions that people in your family have or had. This family tree may also tell you what that person died of.
This assignment is worth 75-150 pt. You will need to do the following. On a large poster board draw out an outline of a tree. Then begin to perform verbal research from your family and create a family tree of relatives. Then ask your relative if they would be willing to tell you if they had any chronic medical conditions such as:
Cancer (type)
High Blood Pressure
Cystic Fibrosis
sickel cell
Stroke
Do not disclose any medical conditions without asking for permission of that family member, because their names are on the family tree. Make your tree colorful, bright and readable (large print) from the broad to a seat in the back of the room.
Lastly, in one written paragraph tell me what you learned by performing this investigation. Tell me if you believe that disease has a hereditary component. This paragraph must be typed, doubled spaced 12 font. Please attach this paper to your poster board. |
