WALNUT HILLS SKI CLUB – General Information
ALL SKI CLUB TRIPS ARE PLANNED FOR THURSDAYS
The planned trip dates for 2009 are:
- January 8th
- January 15th
- January 22nd
- January 29th
- February 5th
- February 12th...make-up day, if needed.
- February 19st
...make-up day, if needed.
Members planning to ride the club busses to or from Perfect North Slopes are required to pay dues. Dues are currently $55 (but may increase to $70 if not submitted, along with all properly-completed paperwork, by December 1st).
Club members who do not plan to ride the bus are not required to pay dues if they have all club paperwork to Mr. Miles in room 113 by December 1st. After December 1st, these people might still be charged dues of $15.
The Ski Club is open to all 7th-12th grade students at Walnut Hills. The club skis at Perfect North Slopes (PNS) in Lawrenceburg, Indiana.
No prior ski experience is necessary. Transportation to and from Perfect North is provided using the Klug Charter Bus Service (yellow busses). Some students drive or ride separately with special written permission. There will be at least one adult chaperone for each bus. Additional chaperones meet us at Perfect North.
We plan to leave Walnut Hills at 3:00PM and to arrive back to school at or before 9:10PM.

Skiing and snowboarding can be fun and exciting but it can also be dangerous. Those members who are beginning or relatively-inexperienced skiers/snowboarders, or who simply wish to improve, are encouraged to purchase the Four-Week Lesson Program. Under this program, a skier/boarder will receive a four-visit pass and four weeks of lessons. Upon completing two lessons, the skier/boarder will receive a pass for an additional visit, at no additional cost. If all four lessons are completed, the skier/boarder will receive a second additional pass, also at no additional cost. (The additional visits do not have to be used by the pass holder, but can be given to others. They will include rental if the pass holder originally purchased rentals.)
Parents are encouraged to require lessons for members who have little or no skiing/boarding experience, or who have need of additional instruction. Club members should not rely on friends to teach them to ski/board. Also, be aware that letting friends talk you into skiing/boarding a slope for which you are not prepared may quickly lead to your being injured.. Lessons are grouped by ability level.

REGISTERING ONLINE WITH PERFECT NORTH SLOPES:
CLUB MEMBERS ARE TO REGISTER ONLINE AT THE PERFECT NORTH SLOPES WEBSITE!
(Do not bring PNS forms to school. If you have a problem registering online, please contact Mr. Miles right away.)
Be sure to register with Perfect North Slopes by November 28th. PNS pass prices will increase sometime after that date.
Non-Walnut Hills students (family, friends, etc.) ARE permitted to register with Perfect North Slopes as part of the Walnut Hills Ski Club and purchase passes at the club rate. Please email Mr. Miles with the names of any individuals who do so at milesmi@cps-k12.org.
Any Walnut Hills High School students who register with Perfect North Slopes using a Walnut Hills Ski Club password are required to join the Ski Club. This entails submitting all required paperwork and, if the paperwork is not submitted to Mr. Miles in room 113 by December 1st, may also entail paying $15 dues. (Dues are also required if you plan to ride the Ski Club busses. These dues are currently $55, but may increase to $70 after December 1st.)
Students who register using the club password but do not join the club are subject to school discipline, including possible detention(s) or Friday School(s).

Procedure for Registering Online with Perfect North Slopes (IF RIDING THE BUS):
$52 dues will be added to the cost of your pass.
1. Go to www.perfectnorth.com
2. Select “Club Log-In” at the upper right of the page.
3. On the a-b-c chart, click “w.”
4. Select “Walnut Hills with Bussing”
5. The password is “Center” (do not use quotation marks). The password is case-sensitive.

Procedure for Registering Online with Perfect North Slopes(If you are not riding the bus.):
1. Go to www.perfectnorth.com
2. Select “Club Log-In” at the upper right of the page.
3. On the a-b-c chart, click “w.”
4. Select “Walnut Hills High School”
5. The password is “Clydes” (do not use quotation marks). The password is case-sensitive.

REGISTERING WITH THE SKI CLUB
1. Obtain all required forms by picking up the Ski Club information in the Main Office or room 113. The required Ski club forms are Forms SCI through SCIII and an Emergency Mdical Authorization form. Many people will also submit Form SCIV, the Alternate Transportation Waiver. (Please note that Forms SCI-SCIV are all on the same paper.
2. Submit all required forms (completed, including signatures) to Mr. Miles in room 113.
PLEASE BRING YOUR COMPLETED FORMS TO ROOM 113.
