Welcome to the exciting world of reading and information! I am Mrs. Hirsch. I run the library. I am also the school Technology Coordinator.
At Schiel PSAE, your child will have 50-60 minutes of scheduled library each week. All students, grades 1-3, have library borrowing privileges. Students in grade 1 must leave their library books in their desks. Students in grades 2 & 3 may take their books home.
Borrowing privileges will be suspended for any student who does not return his/her book on the assigned due date. Once the book is returned or the replacement fee is paid, the student immediately has borrowing privileges reinstated. This is to help your child from having too many books out at one time and incurring a heavy library fine.

Kindergartners have story time in the library. We then spend time doing a variety of activities (acting them out, story board sequencing, etc.) to reenforce their understanding of the book we've read.
