A bit about me...

Welcome to visual arts at Schiel PSAE! My name is Melanie Hart and I will be your child's art teacher this year. Let me tell you a little bit about myself. I am starting my 14th year of teaching. I have taught for CPS at Whittier/Rees Price Academy for the past eight years and just last year I became a credentialed lead teacher as well as a part-time teacher evaluator for visual arts. Before coming to CPS, I taught in Lebanon City Schools for four years and in St. Bernard-Elmwood Place Schools for one year.
I have my Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with a teaching certificate from the University of Cincinnati as well as my Masters of Art in Art Education degree from the Art Academy of Cincinnati.
My husband I have been married for ten years and we have a wonderful little girl who is three as well as an energetic golden retriever named Daisy.
It has been my dream (literally!) to teach at Schiel PSAE and I am so excited about this year! Visitors are always welcome in my classes and please feel free to contact me at anytime--email or call. I'll get back to you as soon as possible.
