Welcome on Pencil with Kids
Welcome

I am your child' s Kindergarten teacher at Mt. Washington School. I am so glad to have the opportunity to work with you and your child. There are so many exciting things that we will be doing this year.

We will be sending home weekly information on all the things that are happening here at Mt. Washington School. So please check the weekly Monday Messenger for all the up to date activities.

Remember the students will be bringing home a weekly home work folder. There will be a cover letter explaining all the things that we will be working on in school for the week. It will include some worksheets for you to work with your child. The work does not need to be returned, but you will need to sign off on the folder after the child has completed the work, then return the folder on the day it is due. Please be sure to assist your child with each activity at home. It will help them to better understand the concepts, and it will give you an idea of how well they understand what's being taught.

Behavior is also an important part of the learning process, therefore we have some very important rules that must be followed here at school so that every child has the opportunity to learn at their fullest potential.
Our five basic rules are---
*Be prepared for class each day
*Raise your hand to speak
*Keep your hands and feet to yourself
*Listen and follow directions
*Be respectful to everyone

If you have any questions about anything that is happening at school or in our classroom, PLEASE contact me at school 363-3823. This will go directly to my voice mail. I will return your call at my earliest convenience. If you need something immediately, call the office 363-3800. I also check my email daily--you can contact me by going to duboisj@cps-k12.org.

Notes are always welcome!!!
