Math Team is open to grades 9-10. Even 8th grade students in Geometry are welcome to participate. Until a student reaches Pre-Calculus, however, there will be some contest questions beyond their knowledge. On the other hand, some questions are geometric in nature and more difficult for those who had geometry years ago. Younger students should compete for practice. Even getting one problem correct is an accomplishment as they tend to be quite tricky!

There are several different contests.
Many of the in school contests have flexible times which can fit any student's schedule. Listen to the daily buletin for times and dates.
JETS is another contest for students interested in a career in engineering. You don't have to be in math team to qualify for JETS, but it certainly helps. JETS is announced in the fall. Only juniors, seniors and a few extremely advanced sophomores qualify for JETS. After officers are elected, they choose the students who will actually be on the TEAMS and compete at UC in February. Taking AP science and math courses is necessary however.

In 2007 we added a second online contest called "Purple Comet" which was held in April. If offered again we will add it to the list next spring.
