"Ethan Frome" is Edith Wharton' complex novella telling the tragical circumstances of a small town, upstate New York story. What appears to be trivial or trite, becomes important and insightful. Pay extra attention to Wharton's narrative structure and use of symbols to add depth to her seemingly simplistic tale.
