Welcome to 2nd Semester Geometry
|
What is new for second semester. Most importantly, very few proofs.
Third quarter introduces students to trigonometry and circles.
Fourth quarter reviews area of 2-dim shapes and explores volumes of all 3-dim shapes. This requires the students to understand how to find right triangles in 3-dim shapes and then use them to calculate the volume.
The students will use geometry for what it's Latin root implies - measuring. There will be 3 activties that will require the students to leave the classroom to apply the different indirect measuring concepts that we will be discussing. |
