This year in music class students will be learning about singing, conducting patterns, ear training using solfege (do, re, mi, etc. ) as well as rhythm and beat patterns. We play instruments from bongos, congas, to xylophones and bells to demonstrate rhythm and beat as well as accompany the songs we sing. Movement is also an important part of music, and students are able to walk, jump, skip, and dance to the beat. We will have fun learning this year and the students will develop skills to improve their singing and instrument playing. I am delighted to have the opportunity to work with your children. I have always enjoyed how quickly they learn and how creative they are in class.

SINCE MUSIC IS A SUBJECT THAT IS BEST TAUGHT THROUGH HANDS-ON ACTIVITIES,
ALL STUDENTS ARE EXPECTED TO PARTICIPATE IN ALL ACTIVITIES.
MOST OF THE GRADE IS DETERMINED BY LEVEL OF ACTIVE PARTICIPATION IN MUSIC ACTIVITIES.
