Welcome to a wonderful new adventure in Reading and Writing for you and your child! I am very excited to meet all of you and teach as well as learn from your children. We have exciting experiences coming our way as we travel with Virgil and Gerty on their journeys on the "Wild Rivers" of the world as we continue the Voyager Program.
Hold on to your hats, as our trip is just beginning! Come and join us for the adventure of a lifetime as your children learn about the world through Reading, Writing, and using their imaginations to explore the world of Language Arts!
In Social Studies, we will be learning about City Government, Cincinnati history, citizenship, as well as other exciting topics. I can't wait to get started this school year!
Your child will bring home a weekly report on Fridays that will provide you with information on their academic progress in class as well as their social development. This is to be signed by the parent/guardian each week and returned on Mondays. We have found that this is an excellent way to keep you informed of your child's learning. There is also a place for you to communicate with us so we are in weekly contact. If you have immediate concerns that you would like to share please feel to call Schiel at 363-5200, leave a message, and I will return your call as soon as possible. You can also email me at Hertzib@cps-k12.org.
These supplies will help your child succeed this year and will be shared between Mrs. Beaver's and my classes. We are a team and are blessed with the opportunity to teach your children this year!
Supply List 3 boxes #2 pencils 2 large boxes of tissues 2 rolls of paper towels 1 bottle of liquid hand sanitizer 1 book bag without wheels

We are all jumping for joy at the progress that our third grade students have made towards passing the Ohio Achievement Test for the past several years. The students and parents worked very hard and our new students have big shoes to fill.
We are an Excellent School once again thanks to the effort last year's students put forth in Reading and Math! I know that my new pupils have the ability to achieve even higher learning and will make all of us proud! I have checked last year's test scores and I know that my new students are well on their way to mastering the reading standards for third grade. I can see how hard they have worked in grades K-2, I am so excited to work with them this school year!
I am happy to see that they are such successful learners as we have a school year full of exciting new information to share and a lot more hard work ahead of us. We will have homework assigned on a weekly basis as well as special projects that will last longer. Mrs. Beaver will be assigning homework as well. We will not give homework that will last more than one hour per night. If homework is taking more time then please let me know so we can work together to figure out what to do to help your student successfully complete all school work. Homework is meant to give students practice on work that is introduced in class, so please only look over their finished work and let me know that your child needs me to clarify the information for them.
When we work together we can make a difference! The sky is the limit!!!! Keep up the good work! |
